Bailey and our calf 'Slobber' ~ January 2011

This is my beautiful niece Bailey feeding our calf Slobber. This baby calf was a twin and the mama cow rejected this one and left him to die. My dad rescued the baby calf on the brink of death and slowly doctored him back to health. When he thought the calf was strong enough he brought him over to our place for the kids to start tending to him. The kids love to bottle feed 'Slobber' and I don't know if you can tell but he is getting quite a belly on him. So blessed that my sons and my nieces get to grow experiencing things like this :)

God grant me the serenity...

I have always loved the serenity prayer and then I happened to come across this longer version that I never knew existed and now I love it in a whole new way. Wanted to share I am not sure how many of you have ever seen this longer version...maybe you have and I was just the only one in the dark...HaHa.

Happy Birthday Uncle Wes ~ 2011

Uncle Wes I wanted to take this time to wish you a Happy Birthday. I love you and miss you. I cannot believe it has almost been a year...seems unreal. A one-of-a-kind man is what you were. I look forward to the day we see each other again. Until then I have my memories.

Beautiful Refreshing Morning ~ February 3rd 2011

These are the beautiful oak trees that run along the south side of our property. We are so blessed to have this beauty to enjoy everyday. Ok Ok now back to the morning...my walking partner could not make it out this morning but I still ventured out and got a few pictures. The air was cold and crisp and it was very refreshing to me. I have had a lot on my mind this week and getting outside this morning and just focusing on God and taking some time to speak to Him in prayer is what I needed. That is always what I need but today I acted. Just wanted to share the peaceful, calming start to my day :) I hope you all have a blessed day too!!

My love of barns...

I love barns...I think I especially love old barns that have a lot of character and history established in their walls. I have been admiring this barn for years and it is slowing losing its grand posture. I think I love it even more as it so gracefully eases its way down to its final resting place. I am sure this ole' barn has had many great experiences and people pass through it doors over the years. I sure wish walls could talk and I could hear a few of those stories. Maybe there is a reason I won't ever know that way I can use my  own imagination to dream and wonder about those that passed by this ole' barn before me...

Lovin' my boys and thinking about how fast they are growing up...

Wyatt - what a sweetie. He has always been my 'thinker'...he is wise beyond his years :)

Caden - what a funny guy. He has always been my comedian. He is full of energy and full of giggles :)

I love watching my boys grow and change everyday even though they seem to be growing up way too fast.
I am proud my boys are learning about the Lord at a young age so they have the 'foundation' established and learn to lean on Him today and all the days of their lives.
They are growing up out in the country, riding quads, riding horses, building forts, playing in the mud, crawdad fishing, summers on our boat, weekends at the ranch, church summer and winter camp and yes an occasional video game...I pray they always appreciate what they have and learn what it means to work for things they want. I hope they grow up with respect for others and have a kind caring spirit.
God be with you Wyatt and Caden!!
